Pros

- A huge amount of our energy needs can be supplied from offshore land masses and mountainous areas that are higher up so that wind generators will be out of sight.

- More than a few studies have been done and all of the studies agree on one thing; we have much more wind power available than we will likely ever need.

- Large steam driven power plants provide base load.

- Smaller generators can be started by the simple flick of a switch.

Cons

- Large amount of area is needed for wind power. Anywhere from 5-6 acres needed for a safe zone around the wind power base

- Trees will have to be cleared in order for wind power to work optimally

- Animal Safety issue. Bird kills will increase due to the high number of windpower bases installed

- Eyesores on the lanscapes. The amount of noise that the wind machines will make will add to scenery pollution in an auditory way as well.
